The Bank of England makes its rate decision, releases its meeting minutes, and also publishes its quarterly inflation report in what is dubbed as “Super Thursday”. It is expected to leave the interest rate unchanged at 0.50% with a unanimous vote, albeit some suspect that inflation, still at 3% y/y, may motivate some hawks to vote for a rate hike. The path of inflation, as reported in the QIR, will determine the chances of a rate rise in 2018. Some see a move in May, while others don’t see any change this year. Governor Mark Carney will hold a press conference at 12:30 GMT.
